The company founder tells his story:

 

“During a study session, the Holy Spirit gave us direction concerning Life. The manuscript to life is given within the Bible. Every chapter is important. We read and study the bible in a chapter format, one or more chapter(s) at a time.”

 

The founder and his partners researched the chapters of the Bible and decided naming the brand after the number of chapters, 1186. Unfortunately their first source of information was incorrect, the actual number of chapters is 1189. As fate would have it, 1186 had more meaning to the men as the number 6 represented “on the 6th day God created man”.

 

The founding partners decided Eleven86 would be name. The founder’s partner determined spelling out the first part of the number would ensure that the brand name would always be pronounced correctly as, Eleven86.
